New from Boxpleat Fashions

Last night Ms. Gene Marshall was just one of the many stars at the much touted Costume Ball, sponsored by our very own Opera Company. All of the guests were asked to dress as their favorite characters.

Surrounded by heavily costumed Valkyries, Gene was the very image of simplicity and charm as the spirited Carmen from Bizet's opera.

If you have an idea for other costumes Gene or Madra could wear to the Opera Costume Ball, please let us know!

Peasant Blouse, Ruffled Skirt, Head Scarf and Shoes

Ms. Marshall's blouse is made of simple white cotton with puffed sleeves. The blouse can be worn with the sleeves down for a bolder look.

The skirt for this costume is a rayon "bandana print" in red with black and white markings. The skirt has four ruffled tiers and can be worn low around the hips or at the waist as desired.

And no gypsy costume would be complete without a scarf for her hair...

Black Ribbon Shoes from Ashton Drake are also included in the auction. As many people already own a pair of these shoes, you may pass on them and subtract $5.00 from your high bid.

"Carmen!" is perfect on "Song of Spain."
Doll is not included in auction.
